The Wick Home for Emotional Growth and Recovery
was founded by Jay Wick. The program, State licensed through the
Arizona Department of Health Services, is designed to meet the
needs of teens with substance abuse and related issues who need
additional time in treatment to develop the skills and behavior
patterns necessary for successful recovery. Our experience
has shown that 28 day programs do not afford most addicts the time
or the skills to succeed in early recovery. They may
stabilize the immediate crisis; they do not provide the ongoing
therapy needed for successful recovery and relapse
prevention. Countless studies show that success in recovery
is directly related to length of treatment. This is because it
takes time to learn new social coping skills and internalize new
behaviors. Withdrawal and detoxification are only the first
step in the recovery process.
The Wick Home for
Emotional Growth & Recovery offers 60 day, and 90 day therapeutic programs for
troubled teen boys
and girls ages 12-17. We specialize in ongoing and extended treatment for adolescents struggling with co-occurring behavioral health
disorders. We accept all residents who fall into the range and
scope of our services.

Because most addicts
present with other behavioral health issues, often referred
to as co-occurring disorders or dual diagnosis, the Wick Home is
capable of meeting a broad array of behavioral health needs.
Our goals are relapse
prevention and family reunification whenever possible, with independent living for age
appropriate clients when family reunification is not possible. We
offer a structured program with integrated academic and therapeutic
components.
The Wick Home
staff is trained and licensed to work with residents struggling with
substance abuse disorders, including alcohol abuse and marijuana abuse,
co-occurring disorders, depression, oppositional defiance, bi-polar disorder, ADD/ADHD, and
anxiety disorders.
